Laing: We Deserved At Least A Point

14 September 2014

Louis Laing couldn't have been happier after his debut in a 0-0 draw against Peterborough United for the Magpies…

The loanee only joined Notts on Friday from Nottingham Forest, as he replaced captain Hayden Mullins who was injured in training on Thursday.

The 21-year-old put in a composed performance against the former league leaders and was a vital part to ensure the club's second clean sheet of the league campaign.

He told Magpie Player after the final whistle:

"It's been a while since I've played in the league, I know a few of the lads here in the squad which has helped me settle in very quickly.

"I know Liam Noble and Blair Adams whilst growing up, but I slotted in fairly comfortably next to Haydn (Hollis). He's a great communicator and he was talking us through the game.

"He's someone I'm looking forward to playing next to and hopefully get more clean sheets.

"It was a tough game, we definitely deserved a point, we could even have nicked. We were all quietly confident beforehand, and we're all happy in the changing rooms after it.

"Hayden passed us on a message to all the lads to wish us all the best, which was nice and I wish him all the best.

"If he's not, I might get a chance to get a few more games. The fans were fantastic throughout, I take my hat off to them, I could hear them through the whole game, no stop singing."
