Hollis: Looking To Keep Another Clean Sheet

16 September 2014

Defender Haydn Hollis is delighted to be part of a brand new Notts side this season…

The 21-year-old has been an ever present so far this campaign and is looking for his third clean in a row after the 2-0 JPT win over Mansfield Town and the 0-0 away draw at Peterborough United.

Hollis has partnered captain Hayden Mullins and more recently loanee Louis Laing, in the heart of the defence, but agrees he's comfortable whoever he plays alongside.

He told Magpie Player: "It was a very good result at the weekend and whoever I play alongside, whether that be Hayden (Mullins) or Louis (Laing), we are always confident and we look very organised and we're very hard to beat.

"The result has given us a lot of confidence ahead of the Orient game and we need to back it up with another positive result.

"If we don't back it up, with what we all know what we can do, then the Posh result will go out the window.

"I had that extra responsibility at the weekend with Louis only just joining us and I know how difficult it is when you go out on loan, so there was a little bit of pressure, but he settled in fantastically.

"He slotted in, had a perfect debut and never looked really out of place.

We're tough to beat away from home and the mentality, compared to last year, has completely changed and that's because of the Gaffer and Greg's influence and the players they've brought in.

"Everyone gets on with everyone, the mind-set it right and everyone's got everyone's backs when we get on the pitch.

"We are hard to beat and the opposition have got to be good to beat us."
