Manager Shaun Derry praised his squad after another away point…
The boss was delighted with his team after they put in another battling performance to ensure the Magpies picked up another point in a 0-0 draw against Peterborough United.
Notts had lost key players in defence due to injury and international duty in the week, so the back four were all 21-years-old or younger and Derry was thrilled with their commitment.
The point means Notts can now build on the performance in two home fixtures at Meadow Lane this week against Leyton Orient and Oldham Athletic.
He told Magpie Player: "I think it was our best away result so far. Our performance was very complete, all the lads were organised, full of character and with ability in there and we've only been together three months, I'm really pleased.
"We've been keeping a close eye on Louis Laing, as we were short at the back and we had to look at the recruitment. Thankfully Forest let us have him for a month and I thought he was absolutely brilliant today.
"All the defence were. The opportunity was there for him and he took it. A lot of people have talked about the ages of our players during the summer, but we are already seeing the youngsters being given a chance.
"I was confident they would do themselves justice and give them a game. Last year we didn't do that at times.
"Curtis (Thompson) is in great form, he's come in and bide his time with Mustapha (Dumbuya). And again he's taken his chance.
"It was a huge test for the full-backs and I thought they both did fantastically well.
"I never really felt we were put under too much pressure, all the lads did a job and it was a fair result.
"It's a big week for us and we are fully aware of getting points at Meadow Lane and that's our intention to do so against Orient and Oldham."
