Academy Urge Fans To Join NCFCOSA

15 September 2014

The club’s youth department have urged supporters to join the club’s Official Supporters Association, to help fund their progression...

With every new member to the Notts County Football Club Official Supporters Association (NCFCOSA), it adds more money to the kitty that can be passed onto the Academy and ultimately help develop the future stars of the club.

The Academy’s team in all age groups are in need of a number of items of equipment including better quality footballs and a waterproof gazebo that would help players get treatment at training to protect them in all weathers from the club's physics.

The Academy’s Administrator Pete Jarvis told the Official Site: “We are so grateful to the NCFCOSA already. We are thrilled with the backing they are giving the Academy and with the promise that they are going to help fund new equipment, which will be so vital and valuable to us all age groups.

“It will mean that we can purchase more equipment which can only help in the development of our youngsters.

"The board and club are always 100% behind the Academy and give great financial support to the academy, but anything extra we receive greatly contributes to improving the quality of our training sessions and supports all 130 plus players from our under 9 squad to our under 18s."

Youth Team Coach Dan Leivers added: “It was great to welcome the NCFCOSA committee down to our training session earlier this month and see what we are all about.

“I think they enjoyed the experience and now understand what items we exactly need.

“As we’ve seen recently in the first team this season, we can produce some excellent players. The likes of Curtis Thompson and Haydn Hollis are doing the Academy proud with their performances and we hope that we can keep producing those types of players in the first team, with the help of the club’s supporters.”
