SportsArt Partnership Welcomed To Help Jimmy’s Rehab

17 October 2014

Progress is being made with the striker thanks to all departments of the club…

Players, staff and everyone connected to Notts County are hoping that the former Huddersfield Town forward will be back on the Meadow Lane pitch soon after making a full recovery, and every effort is being made to make that possible.

After hearing about the unfortunate injury to County’s number nine, SportsArt Regional Sales Manager Daniel Billington met with Commercial Director Damian Irvine to discuss the installation of some key medical fitness equipment to help the clubs players including Youth, Academy, Ladies and First Team Squads.

In return the Clubs Sports Science Department will be providing SportsArt with evidence-based data on player injury management, injury prevention, and rehabilitation throughout the season.

So far this has seen the club host members of the SportsArt Team, including representatives from the companies Taiwan Headquarters, at the recent Gillingham league Match.

SportsArt Regional Sales Manager, Daniel Billington said “This is a unique opportunity for SportsArt to raise its profile in the UK in the supply and installation of Fitness Equipment, while forming a close working relationship with the Oldest Football League Club in the World.

“We are extremely excited to receive ongoing updates, data and evidence throughout the year, whilst hopefully continuing to improve results on the pitch”.

Irvine is delighted with the new partnership in place.

He told The Mag: “Sports Art are a company that are well known in the medical world for their equipment, we engaged them after Jimmy’s surgery and talked about rehab equipment.

“They’ve sent us a piece of equipment that isn’t available anywhere in the UK. Regardless of budget, no other sporting club in the UK can access this piece of equipment which should be highlighted .

“Sports Art and other leading elite equipment, training and research companies have partnered with us on the basis that our medical department is so respected and highly regarded. They are keen for us to research and develop their technology in our working environment.

“We had representatives of the company here at the Gillingham game and we are helping them to develop.

“We are forging a great reputation thanks to our medical team and they continue to write many papers which are well read in the medical world.

“A football clubs assets are far more than invested funds and holdings. For the first time we are fully leveraging our off field assets to full advantage with the outcome being facilities and support equal to, or in many cases, better than most of our rivals.

“As a result of that, on a limited budget, we have some of the countries leading  sports medicine experts  working with us very closely and they want to work with Notts County FC.

“I’m very excited. We are the oldest football league club in the world, but the equipment we have is cutting edge and Jimmy is over the moon that we are doing everything to help him. This is just one example of many.

“It also positions us in the area as a centre of sports medicine and we are getting people down here regularly now from various professional sporting clubs and organisations, and having Notts in the heart of this, is very exciting.”

The state of the art equipment brought into the club is a treadmill and cross trainer that is fully harnessed, the player can be fully lifted up, that will take the wait off the limbs and muscles.

This will give players a full work-out without using their muscles. It is hoped that it will help aid recovery and reduce injury times.

Everyone at Notts would like to wish Jimmy all the best with his continued rehabilitation.
