The side lost 3-1 to Scunthorpe last weekend in a disappointing end to their three game winning run.
Reece Fyfe scored early to put Notts ahead, but the Irons stormed back to take the three points.
Halsall told the Official Site: “We got off to a decent start, taking a 1-0 lead, but then never really capitalized on it, although we had a few chances to get a second and make it more comfortable.
“It’s disappointing to concede the equaliser in the manner we did. There was a lack of organisation and certain players didn’t do the job that they were told to do.
“We made a couple of changes at half-time to try and move the ball quicker, but we found it very difficult and never really forced the issue, until it was too late.
“We went 2-1 down and never really looked a real threat. In general it was disappointing after the little run we were on.
“We knew it was going to be a harder test for the players and that’s how it panned out.”
