Derry: Serious For The JPT

6 October 2014

Manager Shaun Derry wants his team to keep the unbeaten run going away at Scunthorpe United on Tuesday...

The Magpies make the short trip for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game to Glanford Park and Derry is going there to win the game and get through to the next round.

Notts have already disposed of local rivals Mansfield Town in the opening round and are hoping for a similar result in midweek.

He told Magpie Player: "We will be taking Tuesday very seriously, 100%. We don't want this run to stop. A win breeds further confidence and the game enables all the lads to feel part of it.

"We're looking on Tuesday with a serious hat on. We are going there to win it.

"We are looking like a good team and I want it to carry on.

"The crowd have been great, absolutely great. Not just this season, but last. Home and away, they have been brilliant.

"I'm pleased with our new contracts and I'm hoping that the fans know that the club is in safe hands.

"They are our 12th man and every successful side needs the fans right behind them. It was a good atmosphere on Saturday."
