Throwback Thursday: The Irish Messi

The Media Team delve into the club's archives…

The Magpies make the short trip up the M1 on Friday to Bramall Lane, not the happiest of hunting grounds in recent years.

Notts' last victory at the stadium came back in 1994 with goals from strikers Gary McSwegan (2) and Gary Lund.

Since then they lost twice in the league, despite a long distance effort from Alan 'The Irish Messi' Judge, and drawn in the FA Cup. Meanwhile they did pick up a point back in 2012 thanks to a second half goal from forward Lee Hughes.

The club would like to thank Bowles Associates, JMS Photography, Action Images, Dan Westwell and the Nottingham Post for supporting the NCFC History archives.

Look out for more classic photographs every Thursday.
