Edwards Looking To Add To FA Cup Memories

8 November 2014

Player-coach Mike Edwards has plenty of cup memories for the Magpies, and he hopes to add to them starting this weekend…

The defender was key to Notts' famous cup run back in 2010 which saw the defeat Gateshead, Bournemouth and Sunderland, before going head-to-head with Manchester City.

The 34-year-old now has set his sights on more cup exploits starting with a victory against Accrington Stanley this Sunday.

He told Magpie Player: "Everyone's got great memories in this competition and it's a game your always looking forward to.

"The first and second round ties can be a bit of a banana skin at times, but if you can get through, you can get stuck into it and see what it's all about.

"I've got plenty of memories. I scored my first ever goal for Hull back in the day, a volley outside the box, so that was brilliant.

"Obviously the run with Notts a few years back where we drew with Manchester City and we really should have beat them that day.

"That year was fantastic and I've been really lucky to get to some of the ground and play against some big teams."
