Derry: I Want The Players To Take Their Chance

14 November 2014

The Notts boss revealed he could be missing a number of key players on Saturday…

The Magpies will be without injured Captain Hayden Mullins and three players out on international duty.

Goalkeeper Roy Carroll, full-back Mustapha Dumbuya and on-loan winger Michael Petrasso are all in action for their countries.

On the plus side Notts do have centre half Haydn Hollis back from suspension and winger Stephen McLaughlin could return after being cuptied last Sunday.

He told Magpie Player: "We will have to try to adapt. A few weeks ago we had a full fit squad available, but that's just the game we are in.

"One positive is that Stephen McLaughlin is back and we perhaps missed his quality last week and he's trained well.

"We will be missing players, but it will give others opportunities. It will be up to them to take this chance with both hands and make it even more difficult for me to leave them out next time and when they come back.

"Coventry got a result in midweek and we will be going there to disappoint them.

"It will be a tough game and they've got some good players there.

"We will be looking to heap some misery on Coventry this weekend, but we have no divine right. I want us to be competitive.

"I got a response last week in a difficult cup tie, not conceding was a major positive and we will be looking to back that up this weekend."
