Derry: Expectation Levels Have Grown

21 November 2014

Manager Shaun Derry held his weekly pre-match media session on Thursday...

Notts County Manager Shaun Derry spoke to the media on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s Sky Bet League 1 match against Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane.

Yeovil come into the game sitting bottom of the table, without a win in their last eight league outings, but Derry is taking nothing for granted against a side led by experienced Manager Gary Johnson.

The Notts boss told the assembled journalists: "I’ve played against too many Gary Johnson sides in the past to think that it won’t be a real tough game, it really will be.

"They’ll be disappointed, having come down from the Championship and perhaps not delivered what they would have expected to deliver this season.

"At some stage they’re going to be a team that will go on a run and I’m sure they will because Gary’s teams have always done that," he added.

"It will be difficult. When you’re in the top four, top six like we are at the minute, I think the expectation level grows as well.

"But, once again, let’s just realise where we’ve been and where we are, we’re delighted with where we are at the minute, coming on the back of a fantastic away win last weekend.

"I know we had a major disappointment on Tuesday night, but we’re in a good run of form and I want it to continue."
