Cassidy: Great To Be Back On The Teamsheet

23 November 2014

Striker Jake Cassidy returned to the starting line-up on Saturday…

The Wolves man returned to the starting 11 after a toe injury had kept him out for six weeks.

He played 75 minutes, after a half-hour on Tuesday away at Accrington, as he continues his comeback.

He told Magpie Player: "Personally I was delighted to be back after six weeks out. I got 30-minutes on Tuesday away at Accrington, so to start was great and I think I needed it.

"I gave it my all and it was great to be back involved.

"It healed quite quick, and after a few sessions with the physics, I was back in. I felt good after Tuesday and I am delighted to be back.

"I've not had many injuries in my career, so I'm now looking to stay injury free for the rest of the season.

"It was a battle. One upfront was the last thing I needed, but I thought we did alright up until the 84th minute.

"We've got to stay switched on. Those lapses of concentration has cost us. It's disappointing. Free headers and poor defending on our part.

"We pressed high, forced the mistake and it's a shame we didn't hang on."
