Distinguished Author John Harvey Signs Up To The Bench

22 May 2014

Notts County Football Club has welcomed popular author John Harvey onto The Bench for the 2014.15 campaign at Meadow Lane.

John is best known for his crime fiction novels - most notably his series of jazz-influenced Charlie Resnick novels, based in the city of Nottingham.

The 74-year-old has been a Notts fan since the 1980s and much of his work has featured the Magpies, including an upcoming short story titled Not Tommy Johnson.

The story will be included in OxCrimes, which has seen 27 crime writers come together to raise money for Oxfam.

John’s latest book in the Charlie Resnick novels, Darkness, Darkness, was launched on Thursday 22 May and will be his last in the popular series.

The passionate County fan speaks at length about his favourite memories of supporting the club, his latest books and why he has joined the likes of Billy Ivory and Vicky McClure on the Notts County FC YouTube channel below:

EARLY BIRD DEADLINE FOR THE BENCH - 31 MAY 2014
Notts County supporters are reminded that they have until 2pm on Saturday 31 May to book their season ticket and secure their place on The Bench for the 2014.15 campaign at the current reduced prices.

Having secured our place in Sky Bet League 1 with a final day 1-1 draw away to Oldham Athletic, Notts are now preparing for a fifth successive season in the division and are calling on our supporters to give us the best possible backing going into the 2014.15 season.

Season ticket prices were significantly reduced when they went on sale as part of the new initiative The Bench in March and with sales going well to date, the club wanted to remind supporters of the forthcoming deadline to book their seat at these fantastic rates.

After the 31 May 2pm deadline, season ticket prices will revert to the levels that they were for the 2013.14 campaign, or the five-year price freeze rates for those qualifying for that initiative.

With an adult season ticket currently available for as little as £315 it really does pay to book your seat early for the new campaign, with every member of The Bench also able to pick up a copy of the multi-award winning match day programme, The Mag, at every home league game next season.

To book your place on The Bench for the 2014.15 campaign, contact the ticket office on 0115 9557 210 or buy online at www.nottscountydirect.co.uk.
