Pub To Club For J&J

The Jimmy and Jack Statue Fund have planned a new fundraising event in April...

All are warmly invited to take part in a Bank Holiday walk from Jimmy's bench that sits outside "Cross Keys" public house in Burton Joyce to Meadow Lane on 21st April 2014.

The walk is 5.8 miles long with a meeting time being set at 10.30 am with a 11.00 am start, we should arrive at Meadow Lane for 2.00pm.

There is a £5 donation fee for all applicants taking part to be paid at registration and you can opt to raise additional funds through sponsorship, please ask for a sponsor form at registration.

Former player and BBC Radio Nottingham pundit Dean Yates has signed up and it's hoped more ex-Magpies will sign up.

Andy Black from the Committee told the Official Site: “This is a great opportunity for families to be involved in the fund raising for the Jimmy and Jack statue fund.

“One of the first ever fund raisers was a sponsored walk from Southwell and so we thought it fitting, that as we have the final push in our fund raising we had another similar event.

“The people of Burton Joyce and customers of the Cross Keys all have a story to tell of Jimmy and so what better place to start from.  We have already had a lot of interest and we hope to raise up to £1,000 to add to the fund total which stands at just over £60k.
