Notts Need To Punch Kick And Scratch

9 March 2014

If Notts County deliver more spirited performances like the one produced against Leyton Orient they will climb away from trouble, says Nathan Tyson.

Tyson joined the club from Championship Blackpool earlier in the week and impressed the Magpies fans on his debut.

The striker worked tirelessly in attack and summed up the team’s commitment against the promotion contenders.

“It was a tough game and it was very scrappy in terms of fighting for everything that was up in the air, which is not really my game,” he said.

“I like to think that that I put myself about because I had to go out there and work hard for the lads.

“I had to the ugly side of things but that’s what I’m about, just chase anything down - lost causes - and catch defenders on the back foot.

“I wanted to help out the team as much as I can because, like I said when I came here, we’re going to have to punch and kick and scratch to get ourselves away from where we are.

“I thought the lads performed very well and I thought the fans were fantastic as well.”
