Enoch Showunmi delivered arguably his strongest performance for Torquay United since signing on loan from Notts County on Tuesday night.
The striker played a part in the Gulls’ opening goal, scored by former Magpie Krystian Pearce, and came close himself with an effort against the post.
Showunmi played 80 minutes, as Torquay claimed their first victory since the beginning of February following a 2-1 triumph over Rochdale, which also saw another ex-Notts man, Joss Labadie, hit the target.
County’s other loan player, Danny Haynes, is set for action on Wednesday evening, when Hibernian take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
