With the 2014 World Cup set to kick-off on Thursday evening, this week’s Notts County Throwback Thursday looks back at a Three Lions related photograph.
Magpies legends Tommy Johnson and Mark Draper are pictured lining up for England Under-21s, either side of former Nottingham Forest defender Carl Tiler.
The fixture is believed to be the 10 September 1991 meeting between England Under-21s and Germany Under-21s, which saw Johnson and Draper feature alongside the likes of David James and Alan Shearer.
At Glanford Park, the home of Scunthorpe United, England Under-21s overcame Germany Under-21s 2-1 in front of 6,984 fans, with Johnson finding the net ahead of the break.
