Notts County will face an away trip to Sheffield Wednesday in the opening round of the 2014.15 Capital One Cup after the draw was announced on Sky Sports News on Tuesday morning.
Having been unseeded in the northern section of the draw for the opening round of the competition, Notts knew that we would face one of 17 seeded opponents ahead of the draw being made.
And it was confirmed on Tuesday that it would be a trip to Sheffield Wednesday for Shaun Derry’s men in their first cup outing of the season.
The Capital One Cup provided one of the most memorable evenings of the year last season, when we went out in extra time to Premier League side Liverpool, having battled back from two goals down in normal time.
The game against Sheffield Wednesday will take place during the week commencing Monday 11 August, with details of the date and kick-off time, together with ticket information, to be announced on the club’s official website as soon as they are confirmed.
It has though already been confirmed that Capital One will be running a promotion for all first round fixtures, called Capital One Kids for £1, which will allow adults to purchase up to five child tickets for just £1 each.
