Throwback Thursday: Forget The Apex, Let's Use The Kop

31 July 2014

This week's Throwback Thursday looks back at a classic team photograph, ahead of the special 'World's Largest Team Photo' at the club's open day.

On Saturday 2 August, members of The Bench are invited to become part of a big group photo by taking a place in the Derek Pavis Stand, behind the first team, youth team and ladies teams.

Traditionally, the Magpies team photos are pictured displaying the famous Jimmy Sirrel Stand apex, though there have been exceptions, including this Thursday's collective shot.

In 2002.03, the County squad were positioned in front of The Kop Stand, with the following players included: (Back Row) Tony Hackworth, Danny Stone, Ian Richardson, Craig Ireland, Nick Fenton, Ian Baraclough, Kevin Nicholson. (Centre) Roger Cleary, John Gaunt, Richard Holmes, Michael Brough, Stuart Garden, Steve Mildenhall, Saul Deeney, Richard Liburd, Paul Bolland, Peter Fox, Gary Brazil. (Front Row) Danny Allsopp, Darren Caskey, Paul Riley, Billy Dearden, Paul Heffernan, Mark Stallard, Marcel Cas.

The club would like to thank Bowles Associates, JMS Photography, Action Images, Dan Westwell and the Nottingham Post for supporting the NCFC History archives.

Look out for more classic photographs every Thursday.
