Notts County are delighted to announce that creative midfielder Garry Thompson has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Meadow Lane.
Thompson becomes the Magpies’ ninth signing of the close season after passing a medical on Wednesday afternoon.
Having made over 500 career appearances, the 33-year-old wideman provides a wealth of experience and has built up a reputation for helping teams gain promotion.
In 2007, Thompson recorded his first achievement by playing a key role in Morecambe’s climb into the Football League via the Conference Play-Offs.
A move to Scunthorpe United brought more success and the Kendal-born player featured 32 times as Iron gained promotion to the Championship in 2009 following another triumphant Play-Off Final.
Most recently, Thompson was an influential part of Bradford City’s League 2 Play-Off winning side in 2012.13 and was also a regular in their historic journey to the Capital One Cup Final.
In 2013.14, County’s latest recruit played 46 times across all competitions as the Bantams recorded an 11th placed Sky Bet League 1 finish.
