Massive Honour For Ronan Murray To Wear The Number 10 Jersey For Notts County

15 July 2014

Striker Ronan Murray has described wearing the Notts County number 10 shirt as a “massive honour”.

Last season’s number 19 was issued his new number when he reported for pre-season training as a reward for his performances at the back end of 2013.14.

The striker netted eight goals in just 16 starts in the Black and White stripes and is seen as one of the club’s key source of goals in the new season.

Murray’s aim is to live up to the expectations that come with being a number 10.

“When I first came in, Kevin Pilkington said to me that I was number 10 and it’s a big privilege,” he said.

“My aim is to repay that confidence that has been put in me.

"I have to take it on the chin, do well and give it my all.

“I have to take the bull by the horns and be a leader.

"I’m more experienced and I’ve been in four or five dressing rooms at this stage of my career.

“I know the ropes well enough so hopefully I can pass on my experience to the younger lads coming through.”
