Midfielder Nicky Wroe will be with his new team-mates for the first time for training on Tuesday morning and he can't wait to get cracking...
The 28-year-old put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal on Monday and revealed it was a meeting with Manager Shaun Derry and former colleague at Preston North End that got the ball running for the move.
Wroe spoke to Magpie Player and said: "I'm delighted that it's all been finalised. It's been an uncertain summer, which isn't nice, but there are a lot of players in the same situation. I'm just happy that it's sorted and I can't wait to get cracking.
"Shaun rang me, after he met Kevin Davies on a course, and it came through word of mouth more than anything. I was obviously very interested after speaking to the Gaffer.
"They obviously spoke about players characters and what they wanted the dressing to be and that will be key. He sold that idea to me and I jumped at the chance. I'm looking forward to meeting the lads at training and be an integral part of the team.
"I may have missed the first few days, but I will catch up and I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can.
"I'm a player who likes to get on the ball, who likes to create things and make things happen and chip in with a few goals as well."
