Match Winner Proud To Be A Magpie

13 January 2014

Winning goal-scorer Mark Fotheringham believes that the Notts County squad are now delivering performances befitting of the badge.

Fotheringham scored the decisive goal in the 2-1 triumph over Sheffield United at the weekend to further close the gap on the pack outside the bottom four.

Although delighted with his first Magpies goal, the hard-working midfielder was quick to credit the whole team for their commitment to the cause.

“It was nice to get the winning goal but the lads did ever so well,” he said.

“It’s not my game scoring but it’s always nice to get a goal, it’s a great feeling and there’s a good team spirit here and everyone was together celebrating.

“I had a part in the first goal with the ball to Jamal and that’s more my game but the guys were fantastic and I’m really enjoying playing with these players.

“I’m really proud of all the boys, it was a good win and nice for all the fans.”
