Notts County skipper Dean Leacock has spoken of his delight at the extension of Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish’s loan spells from Celtic and Aston Villa respectively.
Grealish signed on loan until the end of the season last week, before McGregor followed suit on Thursday afternoon ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 encounter with Walsall.
The duo, who have been key figures in the Magpies attack this term, are expected to play a big part in the team’s pursuit of Sky Bet League 1 safety.
Leacock explained that the news has given the squad a huge lift ahead of an important few months for the football club.
“It’s a massive boost for us because they’ve been brilliant for us this season and I can’t praise them enough,” he told the official site.
“Callum, for what he’s done at such a young age, is impressive and then Jack came in later to give him that help.
“They work hard in training and when they’re on form they’re unplayable, which is a good thing.
“Along with Jamal [Campbell-Ryce], the way they’re playing at the moment, they’re giving us that belief.
“At the back you always think something is going to happen and the news that they’re staying is brilliant.
“They’re top, top players and they’ll both definitely play higher.”
