Ball Off The Mark & Pushing For A Start

20 January 2014

Winning goal-scorer Callum Ball hopes that he has done enough to earn a place in the starting 11 when Notts County face Peterborough on Tuesday night.

Ball rejoined the club on loan earlier this month and scored within minutes of being introduced from the bench in the Magpies’ 1-0 triumph over Stevenage.

The Derby County striker has impressed in his five appearances in the Black and White stripes and is eager to make an impression at London Road, as County look to continue a perfect start to 2014.

“It was a great moment scoring the winner and so soon after coming off the bench as well,” he said.

“The gaffer sent me on to score a goal and I did it, but it’s not just for me it’s for the team.

“It’s a big thing for me to come here and play games, obviously in the last two I’ve been on the bench but when I was out the team the boys won two games so it’s hard to put me back in the team.

“Hopefully now I came on and scored I’m in contention for Tuesday night.

“I just want to score a few goals and get my name out there again so it’s a big moment for me.”
