The club are backing Basford's bid to win £100,000...
Notts Manager Shaun Derry and Assistant Greg Abbott are asking supporters to vote for local side Basford United in a Facebook competition ran by Budweiser, where the non-league side could win a super grant of the sum of £100,000.
There are a number of links between Notts and Basford, including the current boss who hails from the area and Football In The Community Education Manager Martin Carruthers who manages and plays for United.
Club Secretary Danny England told the Official Site: “The money will enable us to improve our facilities dramatically and improve our carbon footprint and ultimately allow us to expand our junior section to 15 teams.
“We must stress that this money, won’t just benefit the club directly, but also the wider community throughout Nottingham.
“Our aim to see improve the pitches we have, hopefully with the Magpie support, we can win the grant.
"We'd like to thank all the Notts fans that have voted so far!"
