As if Notts County’s 3-0 triumph over Coventry City was not enough to send supporters home happy, one fan’s day was unforgettable.
Australian Magpie Richard Cross travelled across the globe to watch his team in action for the first time in over seven years.
Richard, who is a lifelong fan of Notts, jetted to Perth in 2007 but was back in his hometown for the Sky Blues encounter.
Ahead of kick-off, Richard, along with his father, Ron, stopped by the manager’s office for a chat with boss Shaun Derry and his assistant Greg Abbott.
Richard then met up with a couple of County players in the club shop, before watching one of the Magpies’ best performances and wins this term.
“It made my three weeks over here - it was freezing cold but I was absolutely buzzing,” he said.
“To meet Shaun Derry and Greg Abbott was brilliant and I couldn’t stop talking about it that night with my friends.
“To see a game like that made it even better, it was a pleasure to watch and, based on what I’ve seen, I’m confident we can stay up.
“My fingers are going to be crossed for the rest of the season, that's for sure!
"I’d like to thank everyone at the club involved for making the day so special.”
