The Youth Team finished the year coming on the right side of a five goal thriller against Burton Albion last weekend
Goals Reece Fyfe and Lartey Sarpong had put the Magpies in control, but Albion battled back and scored two quick fire goals before the interval.
Midfielder Luther Wildin netted the winner though in the second half to finish the squad’s 2014 campaign in dramatic fashion.
Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall told the Official Site: “We started really, really well, scoring twice in the first twenty minutes and we were comfortable.
“That was probably our best passage of play so far this season. All three goals were very good and it shows that we do have a cutting edge scoring plenty of times.
“But we let our focus and concentration go and let them back into with two very quick soft goals.
“We started brighter in the second half and the lads showed great character to get that third.
“There’s still plenty to work on in the New Year, but it means we finish the year off well and we are in a good position which is always nice for the lads.”
