Halsall: We Have Every Confidence In The Lads

3 December 2014

The Youth Team are back in action on Wednesday against Grimsby Town…

The young Magpies will be looking for back-to-back victories and maximum points could move them up to second position in the division.

Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall was delighted with his squad.

He told the Official Site: "We will be looking to win and we have every confidence in them to do that. The work-rate, the desire and will to win last weekend was fantastic and we will be looking for more of the same.

"If we go along the same pathway, we will have a great chance.

"There's a great chance to move up the table with no one else playing. It's very pleasing to be looking up.

"The season has been very fragmented with the fixtures are set-out, but we've got three games in a week and it will give us a great boost if we can get results from them all.

"Hopefully we can get a run of games together and that will put us in good stead before the Christmas break.

"The squad has a number of knocks, so squad rotation could be key with the amount of games in a short space of time."

"We will assess players and make sure we are fully prepared. We can of course call upon the Under 16s, who have stepped in and shown great progress. There a few back in contention, but we aren't too sure if they can play the full 90."
