Blair's Blog: Excited To Tackle The Heavy Fixture List

11 December 2014

Left-back and aspiring sports journalist Blair Adams writes for the Official Site ahead of a busy Christmas schedule...

What a result against Doncaster on Tuesday night!

The boys produced a typical battling away performance against a strong side that were unbeaten in five.

We received a stroke of luck with the referee ruling their goal offside, but I think it drove us on to go get a winner, which thankfully Liam Noble managed to do for us.

It was a classic Nobsa goal that we see regularly from him in training, not even Big Roy can save those!

The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is a competition we are taking very seriously and after Tuesday night’s win, we are 3 games away from a dream game under the Wembley Arch.

However I am sure the Manager will not let us get carried away as next week we come up against another tough outfit in Preston.

We also have some massive games coming up against teams in and around us in the league and the victory over Doncaster gives us a platform to build on leading into them.

We have shown we can compete with the strongest teams in this league so the boys are excited to tackle the heavy fixture list over Christmas.

It is a hectic time for footballers with games coming thick and fast so there is no opportunity to over indulge on the Christmas pudding! We have to be professional and prepare correctly but playing games is what we love to do and the more of them the merrier!

The Gaffer has challenged us to go on a run through December to put us in a real strong position come January and set us up nicely for a promotion push.

Keep an eye on the Official Site for further articles from the defender as he continues his sports journalism degree.
