Shaun Derry: The Dressing Room Is Full Of Confidence

30 August 2014

Manager Shaun Derry is looking forward to another tough test this Sunday as Notts take on Bristol City…

The Magpies are back on home turf this Sunday as they take on promotion favourites Bristol City.

Boss Shaun Derry believes it will be another tough fixture, but hopes his team can build on back-to-back victories.

He also hopes to have players back from injury and welcomed new signing Reece Brown to the club.

He told Magpie Player: "We are fully confident, but we will be up against one of the favourites.

"They have a very good manager down there and have made a lot of changes like us.

"They will be favourites, but we won't be making it easy for them.

"They have good strength in depth and their squad is full of quality.

"But we are getting players back too. Danny Haynes played another 45-minutes in midweek and is getting closer and we are hoping he might be involved.

"To sign Reece on loan too, he's the type of player we've been looking for and it's a big boost for us all. He brings us a lot of ability as fans will have seen in the friendly against Birmingham.

"He's full of pace, he's creative and direct. I'm pleased he's here.

"We are on the back of two strong performances and we are looking forward to an all mighty challenge on Sunday."

Derry also denied speculation linking him to a move to Crystal Palace and to team up with former Magpies boss Neil Warnock.

He added: "There's nothing in it. I'm still close to Neil and it's great, it proves we are doing a good job here.

"There's been no contact. I've wished Neil well, but I speak to him a lot anyway. I've got a job here and I love it here. Slowly but surely we are getting it right.

"The job has just started here and I'm not interested in the job."
