Noble: A Great Display And A Great Three Points

24 August 2014

Midfielder Liam Noble has made a perfect start to his Notts career, scoring twice in two weeks, both match winners…

The former Carisle United man's free-kick late in the game gave Notts the breathing space after plenty of home pressure.

The strike took a wicked deflection to spin into the corner, but Noble was only concerned with another victory.

He told Magpie Player: I take all the goals however they go in, they all count and the most important thing today was the three points.

"As Gaz (Gary Jones) was saying we had a bit of luck, but everyone put a shift in, including the lads coming off the bench and I think we deserved the win.

"I was glad to send the fans in good spirits ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

"First half we did what we had to do, Gaz got us ahead and then we knew what to expect in the second half. They through everything at us and it wasn't the prettiest of games, but our two centre halves was magnificent today copying with the big man Pope. Everyone to the man put in a class display.

"The only disappointment was when I didn't finish the one-one-one in the second half, I think I had too much time and I should have probably gone round the keeper, but like I say we came away with the win.

"It's unbelievable to play with the experience of Gary Jones and Alan Smith and I'm learning a lot from them."
