Mike Edwards Returns To Meadow Lane

Mike Edwards returns to Meadow Lane...

Notts County have brought former defender Mike Edwards back to Meadow Lane on a short-term deal that will see him take up a role as strength & conditioning coach and provide backup to the first team squad as a player if needed.

Edwards, who moved to Notts from Grimsby Town in 2004 and went on to spend eight seasons with the club, has been training with Shaun Derry’s squad in recent weeks and even turned out in a pre-season friendly at Carlton Town last month.

The 34-year-old has now put pen-to-paper on a short-term deal with the club, primarily to take up a role as Strength & Conditioning Coach, taking over from Lee Taylor, who is set to leave the club this week to pursue a new opportunity.

The club would like to thank Lee Taylor for all of his efforts during his second spell with the club and wish him well for the future.

Edwards, who has been handed the number 28 shirt, will provide cover for Derry’s first team squad, should he be required throughout the season, bringing with him a wealth of experience from a career that has seen him make over 500 first team appearances.
