On-loan winger Adam Dawson sat down with the club’s matchday programme The Mag and gave a frank and honest interview, which will be featured in the Colchester United edition.
He spoke about his mixed experiences at Bury, Liverpool, signing on the dole and what he hopes his short-term move to the Magpies will bring in the long run.
The Leicester man started for Notts against Fleetwood Town and hopes to keep hold of his place in the team ahead of the Colchester United fixture on Tuesday.
He told The Mag: "Here at Notts I’m around first team and experienced players, rather than the 21s at Leicester and playing for three points that don’t earn you anything.
“It’s not proper competitive football and being here and playing for three points really matters to me.
“People have got kids and they want to win because they want to get their bonuses and put food on the table for their families.
“It’s proper football and you’re playing for real life, which is what I want, as I don’t want to go through being out of the game again – I want this to be my future.”
