Haydn Hollis will not be allowed to let his performances levels for Notts County drop - certainly not by Jamal Campbell-Ryce.
Campbell-Ryce has been impressed by the way that Hollis has taken his chance, having been a regular in the starting 11 since his introduction as a substitute against MK Dons last month.
Hollis waited patiently for his opportunity and has been one of Notts’ stand-out performers during the run that has lifted the team out of the relegation places.
Campbell-Ryce sees a lot of potential in the 21-year-old and has been pushing him to improve every day in training.
“I’ve said to Haydn Hollis that I think he’s got a great future ahead of him,” said the winger.
“For me, he can go as far as he wants, you just have to look at [Harry] Maguire at Sheffield United, he’s done well and is getting people looking at him every week.
“I think Haydn’s better than him and I’ve told him that if he gets in the gym and bulks himself up, that can be him in a year or two.
“That’s one thing with the young lads here, they all listen.
“Haydn’s been absolutely fantastic and it’s a credit to him because he’s had his head down and never moaned.
“He’s had a lot of good players in front of him and he’s waited for his chance and taken it.”
