Time Hopefully A Healer For Magpies

6 September 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya is looking forward to having a number of his key players back in action when the Magpies face MK Dons.

This weekend’s Sky Bet League 1 fixture with Leyton Orient has been rearranged due to international call-ups, meaning that the Magpies will experience an 11-day break before the trip to MK Dons next Saturday.

With the likes of Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Alan Sheehan, Danny Haynes and Enoch Showunmi nursing injuries, the international break is seen as a blessing in disguise.

“It’s hard when you’ve got a patched up team and I’m saying once I get my starting 11 we will climb the table,” said Kiwomya.

“I’ve got every confidence in that but in the meantime I urge the fans to persevere with us.

“If I can get one or two back [for MK Dons], I’ll be happy with that because that makes us a stronger outfit.

“You could see at Walsall, when we got the team together, we were a better team in the second half.

"That’s just a glimpse of what can happen when we're at full strength.”
