Skipper: We Will Turn This Around

1 September 2013

Captain Dean Leacock is confident that the Magpies will turn around their early season form.

Kieran Agard’s 37th minute strike saw Notts beaten by Rotherham United at Meadow Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies have taken one point from the opening five matches but now have an extended break from league football due to international call-ups.

Leacock wants supporters to remain behind the team, as the they use the gap to put things right on the training ground.

“I’m very confident that we can turn this around, we’ve got a good squad and no team’s come here and outplayed us,” he told Magpie Player.

“I didn’t think that there was much in it and obviously they get a set-piece but we need to work on the little things in training.

“We will work hard and we will change things around.”

He added: “We just need fans to keep the faith, because the manager’s new and he’s doing the right things.

“We’ve got a few young players as well who have not really played at this level before.

“They’ve got to stay with us because we will get better, I know that for sure, especially with the manager and the staff we’ve got.

“It’s only the fifth game but we will improve and when the injuries come back it will be a big boost for us.”
