Sheehan: Let’s Show What We’re About

17 September 2013

Notts County need to show the quality in the ranks this evening at the Matchroom Stadium, says left-back Alan Sheehan.

Notts have delivered a slow start to the 2013.14 campaign, which has left the fans, staff and players disappointed.

On Tuesday evening, the Magpies face the division’s best side, Leyton Orient, who have won six out of six in Sky Bet League 1 so far this season.

Sheehan believes that the fixture provides the perfect platform for the team to show that they are better than their bottom-placed league position suggests.

“You’ve always got something to prove on the football field, because it’s a difficult league and we just want to show what we’re about,” he told Magpie Player.

“I don’t think anybody would’ve had us down there at the start of the season, but we're there now and we’re there for a reason and we’ve got to put it right.

“One point out of six games is not ideal but the positives are that there’s 40 games to go to put it right.

“It really is important that we stick together as a team and I don’t want to start pointing out the negatives about the team because there’s enough people doing that at the moment.

“There’s good players in the dressing room, it’s just we’ve got to get a little bit of luck

“We’re playing supposedly the best team in the league on Tuesday night so we’ve got nothing to lose.

“We’ve got to go out, play our game and get a result for the manager."
