Let’s Restore That Winning Feeling

3 September 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya wants the Magpies to restore that ‘winning feeling’ by booking their place in Round 2 of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

On Tuesday evening, Notts face Sky Bet League 2’s Burton Albion at Meadow Lane (7.45pm kick-off).

Following a slow start to the league campaign, Kiwomya wants his side to lift the County faithful with a strong performance and a victory over Burton Albion, who have started the season in fine form.

“They’ve already beaten Sheffield United this season so it will be a difficult game for us,” he said.

“We can stamp our authority being at home but we have to give the fans something to shout about and I’m looking for a good performance from the team.

“I know the fans are disappointed, because I’m disappointed as well, but it will turn and I’ll make sure the team will perform sooner or later – and hopefully it will be sooner.

“We look at the JPT very seriously and we want to win every game.

“It’s a competition I want to try and do well in, because the winners go to Wembley and that would be nice.

“It would be good to just get that winning feeling and mentality around so it is very important.

“It’s about winning these games, they’re difficult games because the underdogs come here with nothing to lose

“If we can put in the performance we did against Fleetwood we stand a good chance.”
