Haber Targets Goals And Assists

14 September 2013

Loan signing Marcus Haber is not only eager to get his name on the scoresheet… He wants to ensure that his teammates are, too.

Haber agreed a loan move from Sky Bet League 1 rivals Stevenage on Friday afternoon and could start in attack for the Magpies against MK Dons this weekend.

The 6ft 3ins Canadian international is eager to put his height and power to good use in the black and white stripes – particularly in the final third.

He told Magpie Player: “Hopefully I can bring goals because that’s what the team needs and I’m going to try my best.

“Getting on crosses is one of the strong points of my game so hopefully that will work well for the team.

“I feel sharp as I haven’t missed any time with injury, it’s just about getting that game time.

“I just want to bring a positive performance into the team and make the team better.

“Obviously, as a striker, you try to score as many goals as possible and if I’m able to score a few goals then that’s a bonus.

“Last season I played a lot on my own up front so sometimes you’re going to bring others into the game rather than create a goal for yourself.

“If I can bring assists as well that’s a positive, just as much as a goal.”
