Grealish Relishing Dons Trip

14 September 2013

48 hours ago, Jack Grealish was training with the Aston Villa Under-21s – now he is preparing to make his Football League debut with the Magpies.

Grealish, 18, received a call on Thursday evening informing him that he was going to be making a loan move to Meadow Lane ahead of Notts’ Sky Bet League 1 encounter with MK Dons.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international trained with his new teammates for the first time on Friday and he is in contention for a start at stadiummk

Grealish played for the Villa senior side during pre-season and made an impact with a goal against Walsall, though he has been allowed to join County with the view of gaining some competitive first team experience.

“Playing in front of 4,000 fans against Walsall and scoring was a dream come true and hopefully a goal or two against MK Dons would be nice, but I’ve just got to wait and see,” he told Magpie Player.

“I like to dribble at people, play people in and get a few assists.

“As a winger you want people in the box to get on the end of your crosses.

“The manager has told me not to be nervous around the lads, just to go and express myself and excite the fans.

“Hopefully I can do that against MK Dons, because I’d love to send a message back to the gaffer at Villa and hopefully I’ll be ready by the time I’m back.”
