Fozzy: Stay Calm And Beat The Dons

13 September 2013

Midfielder Mark Fotheringham believes that Notts County can be the first team to defeat MK Dons this term.

The Dons are unbeaten in Sky Bet League 1 in 2013.14 and have taken 10 points from their opening six matches.

Notts are currently in search of a first league win but head into the fixture buoyed by a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory over Burton Albion.

Fotheringham feels that the team needs to stay calm and head to stadiummk in a positive frame of mind to give themselves the best chance of climbing off the bottom of the standings.

He told Magpie Player: “We know how much it means to the fans and we want nothing more than to get ourselves up that table.

“If we can get two or three wins, we can be right back in there again.

“We need to be calm as well and make sure that we’re working hard all the time.

“The frustrating thing for the fans especially is when they see teams like Rotherham and Stevenage and then see the quality of players that we have.

“They think ‘why are we getting beat here?’ but we’re also feeling like that too.

“It’s just unfortunate but I’m sure the tide will turn and we’ll start to get some wins – we need to believe that too.”

He added: “I think any team is capable of beating each other in this league so we’re really looking forward to the game.

“It’s a great stadium and playing surface so it will be nice to get our first win away.

“Anyone can beat anyone and the fans must be kind of bewildered at times when they’re putting on their weekend accumulators.

“You just can’t pick a score or a result but we just need to try and be solid against them, really go out there on the front foot and show what we can do.”
