CK: Magpies Can Defy The Odds

17 September 2013

Many have already written the Magpies off ahead of tonight’s match – but not first team manager Chris Kiwomya.

It is a case of top versus bottom at the Matchroom Stadium on Tuesday night, as Notts take on Leyton Orient, who are yet to drop a point this term.

Although priced at 5/1 long shots by Sky Bet, Kiwomya believes that his side can prove the doubters wrong and become the first team to take points from the O’s in 2013.14.

“It’s a good test for these players, because we’ve got to be standing up to these challenges,” said the manager.

“I know everybody’s expecting us to lose but I’m not.

“I think it’s something that we can take on board and use it as a stimulus to go against Leyton Orient.

“We want to turn our season around and it has to start somewhere.

“I think that if we can get something from the game then we can build.

“I think we can go down there and do well, we’ve just got to cut out the silly mistakes and maybe get a little bit of the rub of the green.

“They’re a good, organised team and they’ve got some experienced players in there but so have we, so we have to be counted for.”
