NCDSA Statement

23 October 2013

Statement from the Notts County Disabled Supporters Association:

On 26 September, the Notts County Disabled Supporters Association held its Annual General Meeting.

The Association wishes to place on record its thanks to the club for providing us with the facilities at Meadow Lane to do this.

At the AGM a new committee was elected.
• Luke Middup – Chair
• Michael Worrall – Treasurer
• Andy Dawes – Acting Secretary

A number of other committee positions were also filled, however, there are a number of other committee positions still vacant so the Association would be extremely interested in hearing from anybody that would like to fill these positions.

The AGM also provided an opportunity for the Association to review its achievements in its first year in existence.

Some of its most notable achievements have been a change in the way disabled fans are stewarded at Notts, input into the annual maintenance at Meadow Lane over the closed season so that the grounds are now safer for disabled fans to use, and better sign-posting of the wheelchair viewing areas.

At present the Association is also undertaking, in cooperation with the club, to look at ways of improving the match experience for blind and partially sighted supporters.

In terms of objectives for the coming year, the Association would like to conduct a formal access audit at Meadow Lane and the Meadow Lane Sports Bar and to begin raising funds for the construction of a covered and raised platform to improve both the view and protection of the weather given to fans in wheelchairs.

The next meeting of the Association will be held at the Trent Navigation Inn, 7pm on 31 October.

The Association now has its own email address NCDSA@outlook.com

The DSA would greatly welcome any comments or questions from any Notts supporter or visitor to Meadow Lane.
