Magpies Getting Their Rewards

6 October 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya was delighted to see the Magpies rewarded for their impressive performance against Crewe Alexandra.

Notts put on a show for a bumper home crowd with two goals either side of the break and some tidy attacking football.

Man of the Match Callum McGregor struck twice in the first half, before Danny Haynes and substitute Marcus Haber put the three points out of question with second half finishes.

Kiwomya was pleased with his team and hopes that it is the start of a reversal of fortunes in the league.

He said: “We’ve been playing really well but it’s hard to convince fans and the team sometimes when you get beat.

“We’ve played well and not taken our chances but on Saturday we scored some very good goals and played some good football.

“The supporters were fantastic and I’m glad that we could entertain them.

“I keep telling the players that it’s up to us and that was one of the things that they brought.

“They got the fans off their seats by creating chances but they’re a good team as well.

“They gave us problems early on because they’re fighting for their lives as well, so to go out there and put that performance in and score all sorts of different goals was very pleasing.”
