Kiwomya Craves Pre-Match Headaches

8 October 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya wants to head into the next league game with a selection headache.

Notts are set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and Kiwomya has a depleted squad due to injuries and international call-ups.

Alan Sheehan limped off injured in the weekend’s 4-0 win over Crewe Alexandra and is a big doubt for the game, whilst Marcus Haber is unavailable and Greg Tempest, Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish are all away on international duty.

With key players missing, Kiwomya sees the televised fixture as a big opportunity for those that are named in the starting 11 in their place at Molineux.

He told the press: “We’ve got players away on international duty and one or two injuries so I think the team will pick itself really.

“We’ve got to put that to the side and just put in a team performance and hopefully get a result.

“I look at it as an opportunity for the players coming in and if they can put in a good performance it shows that they’re ready for the step up.

“It shows that they’ve been watching and learning while they’ve been on the sidelines.

“I really hope they do that because I’d like to have a lot more headaches on a Saturday morning picking my team.”
