Boss Targets Perfect Week

22 October 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya has set his sights on a perfect week, as the Magpies prepare for two difficult encounters.

Notts will travel to Gillingham on Tuesday night, before returning to Meadow Lane on Saturday for a clash with Preston North End (3pm kick-off).

Friday night’s defeat against Swindon Town saw County drop to second bottom but showings in the build-up to that game have given supporters reason to believe that their team will soon climb the Sky Bet League 1 table.

The coaching staff have been working hard behind the scenes to cut out the individual errors that have proven costly on so many occasions this term.

Kiwomya is encouraging his team to attack at the Priestfield Stadium and rekindle the level of performance delivered before the international break.

He told Magpie Player: “We’ve been playing really, really well, apart from the game against Swindon where I thought we didn’t really do too much in their half and around their box.

“We’ve got to keep playing on the front foot and playing football, which is what we have been doing, and we just need the end product as well.

“We need to keep believing in ourselves and play the way we have been doing, because we’ve been playing some good stuff, especially at home.

“We’ve got to punish teams when we get the chances and be resilient on set-pieces.

“If we could get a win on Tuesday, it would set it up for a good game on Saturday, as it would give us a chance to get back-to-back wins, which is what I want.

“It’s a big game between two teams down at the bottom so we want to go there and put on a good show.”
