Skipper Apologises To Fans

3 November 2013

Captain Dean Leacock has apologised to Notts County fans following the defeat to Coventry City.

543 Magpies supporters made the trip to the Sixfields Stadium in Northampton and witnessed their side concede three second half goals.

Notts had matched Coventry in the opening 45 but went down to 10 men just moments before the interval.

Coventry made the numbers count in the second period but Leacock made no excuses at the final whistle.

“It’s very disappointing and there’s a lot of down players after the game,” he told Magpie Player.

“We didn’t help ourselves going down to 10 men just before half time.

“The fans turned out in their numbers and sorry to them but the lads tried.

“When confidence is low, it affects you really bad sometimes and obviously they got their goals really quick and there was no coming back.

“We’ll try to move on from this but confidence is a big thing in football and if you’ve got confident players you’ll win games.

“We’re not doing that at the minute so I think you can read into that but we’ll keep working on fixing this.

“We can only say stick with us because we are working hard.”
