Magpies Up For Another Fight

30 November 2013

First team manager Shaun Derry is champing at the bit to get back on the touchline when Notts County face in-form Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Derry picked up his first point as boss on Tuesday night, when the Magpies fought out a 1-1 draw with Play-Off contenders Bradford City.

Another committed performance saw Notts compete against one of the division’s top sides, just as they had done against second-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers two weeks ago.

High flying Brentford head to Meadow Lane in great spirits having won seven of their last eight games but Derry has seen enough in the most recent three games to suggest that County have enough to register more points on the board.

“Let’s bring it on and see what the guys can do again,” he said.

“Let’s make it four good performances on the trot and see if it warrants points.

“[Bradford was] the first point on the board and let’s build on from there.

“It’s pointless saying we’ve achieved because we’ve achieved nothing.

“We’ve got to crack on now on Saturday and make sure we put on another performance of the same manner.

“The only way we’re going to get out of this trouble is by being horrible, determined, in your face and with quality when we get the ball back.”
