Freeman Relishing ML Return

15 November 2013

On-loan defender Kieron Freeman cannot wait to step out onto the Meadow Lane pitch again, following his loan return to Notts County.

Freeman enjoyed an impressive spell with the Magpies at the end of the 2011.12 campaign, playing 19 times and scoring once as the team just missed out on the League 1 Play-Offs.

The former Nottingham Forest full-back, who is now a Derby County player, received a series of Man of the Match awards at Meadow Lane during his last stint and he hopes to pick up where he left of this weekend, when County face Wolverhampton Wanderers (3pm kick-off).

He told Magpie Player: “Knowing the club and being here before, it’s nice to come back to somewhere you know and not somewhere new.

“I know it’s a good club that’s not where they want to be at the minute but I’m hoping to help change that.

“I’m at a moment in my career where I need to play games, the opportunity arose with Notts County and I took it with both hands.

“My last spell here was great for my career and it helped me to improve as a player and as a person.

“I’m still the same person, I still play the same way and I’m just looking forward to getting out there regularly now.

“I can’t wait for the games to come thick and fast and I’m relishing the moments and I’m ready for it.

“I just want to play games and win every game, because that helps both me and the club.”
